Dogs on the Loose - Aug 1, 2022






 Hello everyone!

The weather here has been crazy! It gets really hot, then we'll have a hard 15 minute rainstorm that cools it down, then it get hot again. And we had a a tornado warning. No big deal.

TUESDAY:
So my companion has always wanted to talk to some one while playing basketball. And we did! We were out walking and there was this guy playing basketball and we joined him! We talked to him about our while shooting hoops and missing about 2/3 of the time.😅 And he was interested which was awesome! We were able to get his number AND A return appointment! We also do service at a food pantry on Tuesday which is so much fun!

THURSDAY:
We were driving through the country around Geneseo and we had stopped at this inactive members home. Most people have dogs in New York, out in the country area where we serve, and this member did. So I start opening the door to jump out while the dog is sniffing at me. And the member yells, "stop, get back in the car." Me and my companion were looking at each other wondering what was happening. So he pulled the dogs into the house and both me and my companion jump out of the car to go talk to him. He was a really nice man! Apparently one of the dogs bites people. So I'm happy I stayed in the car.  He was not interested in coming, but he did give us a suggestion to visit a family who had just moved in and that was amazing!

FRIDAY:
We were going to visit another member who was kinda active, but she wasn't home. So we went to do some other things and then decided to try the member one more time. She was home! Apparently there had been a time miscommunication and she had thought we were coming earlier. We had a great lesson with her and she wants to start coming back to church again, woo-hoo!

SUNDAY:

While we were out knocking, we saw someone moving in so we offered to help. And they are the cutest family! We got a return appointment and they are so nice!

  TUESDAY: We had Zone Conference day #1. Elder Johnson of the seventy came which was cool.  There are also three Martin's in our mission, none related to each other. I also had exchanges. WEDNESDAY : Our catch up day. We had a lot of lessons! THURSDAY : Day #3 of zone conference. Another exchange. Within the exchange I got to do my first service on the mission  and I started a phone call in Spanish. Which was cool. FRIDAY : We had lessons and some finding. SATURDAY: It was soo hot. Hello beautiful people,                                                        Sister Prall and I found some beautiful Daisies. MONDAY: We had an awesome lesson with one of our friends Chris! We talked about Jesus Christ and why he had to come!  And we called random people at the church which was a bit strange but good! TUESDAY: So we had a slightly distracted lesson with our new friend Bryan. (Not the recent convert) we tried talking about prophets which went well but he kept on going on tangents about false prophets and some other tangents. And pulling him back to the fact that there is a true prophet today was fun. But we think we got the point across! Problems are Like a Washing Machine - August 7, 2023

Hello, Wonderful Week!  Hope it was for you too! TUESDAY: Well Tuesday we had a lot of lessons planned, then they all fell through so instead we did a lot of finding. We stopped by this one house and they were just letting their dogs out so we got to pet two of their dogs who were very nice! One of them stayed a boy further back and made us a bit nervous but the owner was there so it was fine! We ended up having a good conversation with her though she wasn't interested. WEDNESDAY: We met with Sister Wilkinson! And when we went we thought it would just be Sister Wilkinson, then Autumn joined us and we just read to them from The Book of Mormon together! It was awesome! And Autumn was involved and commenting which she hasn't been the past few times we've gone!  We then showed up for youth night but it ended being somewhere else so we talked to the adults instead which was good!
