May 30, 2022 - A week of Firsts

Hello Family and Friends,

Here is my week.

TUESDAY:

Ok. Baptisms. We put someone on Date this week!! His name is Russel. We also had a baptismal interview and our friend passed!!!! His name is Gary. We also had interviews with President Gentry which was fun. Here's a picture of Sister Powell and I with Gary.  And Ben was the one who baptized him.


WEDNESDAY:

We had a good amount of lessons. Otherwise it was a pretty normal day.

THURSDAY:

We had lots of meetings and some lessons.

FRIDAY:

I got to go on a golf cart! So one of our members lives in a campsite because he's a fishing guide. He's also the one who goes around at night when it's time to quiet down to make sure everyone does so. So I got to ride a golf cart for the first time and a tour of the campground.

SATURDAY:

My phone is connected to our car for music but when the car plays music is sometimes delayed. So my companion and I had just finished a conversation and were in one of those quiet moments before someone starts talking. And my music turns on how great thou art. It was so sudden I think both of us jumped a bit. There were also a lot of yard sales and a craft fair. Sadly we didn't get to go.

We had been promised thunderstorms for days but hadn't gotten any. So we were out knocking doors, no umbrella, which was not a great decision on our part. And it starts lightly drizzling, by the time we knocked three doors with no answer it was pouring rain. So we ran back to the car getting wet but not quite soaked in the process. We also saw a buggy so that was interesting.

SUNDAY:

We had our friend Gary's Baptism. So we filled the font which was a interesting experience. Definite flashbacks to my Baptism. Gary also got baptized twice and confirmed twice because it wasn't quite right the first time. 

We also knocked a street where everyone knew a member which was interesting though no one was interested. We did have some good conversations though.

  TUESDAY: We had Zone Conference day #1. Elder Johnson of the seventy came which was cool.  There are also three Martin's in our mission, none related to each other. I also had exchanges. WEDNESDAY : Our catch up day. We had a lot of lessons! THURSDAY : Day #3 of zone conference. Another exchange. Within the exchange I got to do my first service on the mission  and I started a phone call in Spanish. Which was cool. FRIDAY : We had lessons and some finding. SATURDAY: It was soo hot. We got up to like 89sh. I was walking up a set of stairs and a huge bee stopped right in front  of my forehead before I stepped forward.   luckily I saw and stopped but I almost got stung by a bee.  We also has a storm Saturday evening., and the rain came on so fast it was bizarre.  I'm still trying to decide how I like the weather here, but I guess spring is unpredictable everywhere. Baptism and everything! - June 5, 2023

Hello beautiful people,                                                        Sister Prall and I found some beautiful Daisies. MONDAY: We had an awesome lesson with one of our friends Chris! We talked about Jesus Christ and why he had to come!  And we called random people at the church which was a bit strange but good! TUESDAY: So we had a slightly distracted lesson with our new friend Bryan. (Not the recent convert) we tried talking about prophets which went well but he kept on going on tangents about false prophets and some other tangents. And pulling him back to the fact that there is a true prophet today was fun. But we think we got the point across! Problems are Like a Washing Machine - August 7, 2023

Hello, Wonderful Week!  Hope it was for you too! TUESDAY: Well Tuesday we had a lot of lessons planned, then they all fell through so instead we did a lot of finding. We stopped by this one house and they were just letting their dogs out so we got to pet two of their dogs who were very nice! One of them stayed a boy further back and made us a bit nervous but the owner was there so it was fine! We ended up having a good conversation with her though she wasn't interested. WEDNESDAY: We met with Sister Wilkinson! And when we went we thought it would just be Sister Wilkinson, then Autumn joined us and we just read to them from The Book of Mormon together! It was awesome! And Autumn was involved and commenting which she hasn't been the past few times we've gone!  We then showed up for youth night but it ended being somewhere else so we talked to the adults instead which was good!
