Big barks, cute little dog, And Last Email!!!!!
Helllllloooooo!
Last Email from New York! It's been an amazing mission out here! Full of ups and downs. Full of joys and sorrows. And so much learning! For me, and many that I've been able to teach. I hope I've made a difference in a few lives. I can see that Heavenly Father has made a huge impact on my life through missionary work.
I have so many emotions. Excited to go home and start college, but sad to leave so many people I love. Either way, I don't have time to think too hard about it. We continue on with the work, right up until the last day I'm here!
TUESDAY:
Well we met with one our friends Wendy which was fun! She had her friend Jeramiah there who was a talker so we ended up on a few tangents, like we went from justice and mercy to Adam and Eve! And Wendy kept pulling him back!
but it was a very good lesson!

We then also met with one of our member families and it went well! We made some good plans and continued to encourage them to share the gospel!
We then met with Kara and had a good conversation about faith!
WEDNESDAY:
We had district council! Which was awesome and we played the missionary song called to serve, probably should have practiced it a bit more!

We stopped by Elizabeth! She was so happy to see us and we had a great conversation and shared some verses and it was awesome! And we set up a time to come back, I hope she keeps it!
We also had another meeting with our member Sister Goldstein! She was so sweet and we were able to make a plan with her!
And we met with a few of our other members and it went well! We also did youth night which was a spa night, but I don't like face masks. (As some of you know) but I was being encouraged. So I did the one that basically looked like a black bandaid on my nose... not sure what it did?
And then we ended with one last member lesson!
We're having lots of member lessons, so my comp and I can both say goodbye to these wonderful people! We're both leaving! She's headed to Rochester, and I'm going home! They are actually closing this area to missionaries for a while, so we've been busy pairing up our friends with members so they can continue to progress in the gospel. Some of them will still have lessons on zoom with the Rochester missionaries.
THURSDAY:
We finally met with Suzalyn after like three weeks!
We also visited Brother Wilkinson one more time and he was so sweet! I am going to be keeping contact with half the people in New York!

And then we met with Wendy again! This time it was just ger involved and it went well. We taught her the spirit world and she was like, hmmm interesting. But I think it made sense to her!?!
And we had a last meeting with our ward missionary coordination!
FRIDAY:
Well the first part of the day we met with a sweet older lady in our ward, Sister Germano. And it was so sweet! We basically just sat there while she talked!

We also met with an older inactive member! We brought a big Book of Mormon and she was like, that's a big book! But she seemed to appreciate it!
And then we went on exchanges! So I was with Sister Ragozzine. When we headed out of the apartment, we realized that Sister Ragozzine's phone was in the apartment which had the sim card, which meant no service!! So maps, calls, and texts could not happen, including a call we had with a returning member. Sim cards are important!
But we instead went around randomly based on my poor directions from the phone map! And still, we made a lot of good contacts! We also had an awesome lesson with this family named the Reids! They weren't sure about The Book of Mormon but then one of the kids said they believed in The Book of Mormon!?! They also had some very active kids so I taught while my companion distracted the younger ones! And we talked about the needs for the Restoration and prophets! It was awesome!
SATURDAY:
Well we had some good contacts! And wandered around a family dollar!
Then there was this one referral we were visiting and they had this little dog who was barking a lot, but his tail was wagging. So I decided to approach to knock the door to the horrified look of my exchange comp, and knocked on the door while the dog kept barking. He eventually stopped and was nice to both of us! He was a very cute dog! And they ended up letting us in and she remembered turning in the referral and said we could come back! When we did she ended up not being there but we invited her brother to church and he said yes! So we gave him the address and got his number!
SUNDAY:
We had church which is always fun! We met Suzalyn and met with a few members! We also had a lesson with our on date friend! We talked about the blessings of church and how we go for the fellowship bur mainly the Sacrament and Eric was like definitely! So hopefully he comes next Sunday!
It was a wonderful week!
Thanks for joining me on my mission adventures!
Love,
Sister Paige Martin
