Zone Conference and Promptings - May 22, 2023

Greetings from Geneseo!

Sister Prall and I went on a hike!

It's odd to be back in Geneseo.  I love the people here, but I feel so different because I've grown so much, while everything here seems to have stayed the same. I have to be careful to not go back into my shell, but train my new companion, and lead out.  Many members say I have the "post missionary glow!" I guess that's a thing.  I'm not done for 3 more months, but I really have grown a lot, which I'm grateful for.

TUESDAY:

Well I went back to the food pantry from 6 months ago! Which was awesome! We colored brown paper bags and filled them for kids lunches! And we had some good lessons with some of our recent converts!

WEDNESDAY:

We had an area seventy, Elder McConkie who gave a talk a couple general conferences ago! And so we had a mini training from him. It was so fulfilling!

We then had an awesome lesson with someone named Dave! And it was awesome! We bore powerful witness of The Book of Mormon and he seemed amazed! He accepted a copy and said he would read it! We also set up a time to come back!

THURSDAY:

We had full Zone Conference! Which was amazing! We had an awesome training about miracles and how we can show love to those around us! And we got flowers! I love how Elder McConkie talked how a miracle could be big or really simple! It could be a miracle of healing, or a small miracle like the store had what you needed or you were able to say your prayers that morning! And it's true, I've seen lots of big miracles on my mission but there are so many small ones as well!

FRIDAY:

Well we were teaching some of the grandchildren of one of our members. Their names are Autumn and Schuyler! So we did a memory game and though I tried my best not to win, but I ended up winning the first game, we then set it up for a second round (we were trying to teach the Plan of Salvation through the cards) and Autumn was like, I am going to beat you! Then their mom came so the game was put on hold. But I think Autumn wants to try again next week.😅

Saturday:

We had a church tour and it was amazing! It was with one of out newer friends Chris! And we invited our recent convert Suzalyn! And we all just bore powerful testimony of the restoration and how this is Christ's church, and that we have a living prophet! And he felt the spirit, you could just see it in his face! And it was amazing! And he said he would come to church Sunday! He didn't have much time so ended up going to one closer to him, but he wanted to come to church!

SUNDAY:

We had church, and afterwards we had a munch-n-mingle (fancy wording for a lunch) which was fun!

We also made a friend! So we were stuck waiting for someone, so when finally we got to the street we planned on knocking, it was a little bit late. And there was a woman outside. And at first in my mind I was like, no we have someone specific we came to visit then we can go talk to her, but I felt really prompted to go talk to her so we did! And we caught her right before she went inside, we talked about The Book of Mormon and our message, we gave her a Book of Mormon and she Said we could come back!

Sometimes God truly places where we need to be when we need to be there. And as we follow him he will give us miracles, big or small!

Thank you for all the support!  Look for miracles in your life this week!

Love,
Sister Martin
