Conference and hotels - October 3, 2022

 Hello everyone!

Zone Conference at the Peter Whitmer Farm

From Last Week

Monday: It was only one hotel but it was huge! It taught the different history of the town we were in, Caledonia, as well as surrounding towns. We had some great lessons with members afterwards. Including one where we acted out the story of Alma and Amulek to help them share the gospel, it was a lot of fun!

TUESDAY: We got back in contact with Elizabeth! She is so sweet and so prepared! Her desire to be baptized and grow closer to Christ is so strong! During our discussion we asked if she still wanted to be baptized and she said yes we could either do it in two weeks,  (doing it in two weeks was already stressful the first time) before a medical procedure she is having or after.. we chose after.

WEDNESDAY:

So while we were from one lesson to another we saw this woman in a wheelchair carrying this heavy bag of groceries and we jumped out to help. Afterwards we asked if she would like to hear a message about Jesus Christ and she said yes! So as we had the opportunity serve someone and share a message about Christ!

THURSDAY:

So we have a friend, Sharon who we have been trying to get to church in awhile but it has been a struggle. And we went to her lesson and she started out with something like. "I made a plan to come to church" we were so excited! Now granted church was not this week but she was able to watch most of conference!   We and a member were able to watch one of the sessions all together!

SATURDAY:

Conference! Which was amazing! We got to spend one session with one of our current friends and another session with one of our members, The Lahadernes. We also have been teaching this man Kenny, the one who showed up to church out of the blue. Well today we were able to meet his girlfriend, Mandy! She was really sweet and listened/watched conference as well! though not with us. We were also able to watch the evening session at the church with some other friends and members which was a lot of fun!

SUNDAY:

We spent conference with a couple friends and some of our members which was a lot of fun! Also that evening we had a lesson with one of our members and a friend. So we had this awesome lesson talking about conference and the member, Sister Jackson mentioned how when she joined the church there were people who did not like her doing so. And we were like, Kara has struggled with this as well so we said, do you want to join our lesson in 5 minutes! And she said yes! So we had this really good lesson with our friend and Sister Jackson!

Also one of my favorite quotes from conference, (out of Many) was from Elder Hollands talk when David said.

"I will not offer unto The Lord My God something that costs me nothing"

As we truly offer a sacrifice unto the Lord he will give us countless blessings! Maybe not exactly how or when we want them but they will come in His time! 

So I would invite each of you to think of something you could offer to the Lord on your altar of sacrifice this week and look for the blessings as you do so! And I promise they will come.
